A Workshop To Explore & Connect With Your Soul – Act From Your Heart & Speak Your Truth

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.” ~ Gospel Of Thomas

Unity comes from Latin ‘Unitas’ from Unus, meaning ‘One’.

There is a fundamentally available and known space we can occupy

  • A space where we can simply be accepting of all that is arising.
  • A place where we accept others as they are; a space where we accept ourselves as we are.
  • A space where we can connect with everything and nothing; be moved and unmoved.

This is a Soul space

We humans are makers of meanings and we are meaning makers. How we relate and compare, how we evaluate and judge and how we include and exclude can be apprehended as characteristics of our Internal World, our Shared Reality and a deeper understanding of Feminine and Masculine energy. None of these are fixed and if anything, they are infinitely expansible.

Paula and Nigel in this one day workshop will facilitate an exploration of how we can all connect more deeply with our own and shared purposes in business, play and life. How we can welcome and accept our deepest selves and use this experience to welcome difference and diversity whilst holding ‘true’ to our own unique and individual purpose. This is about enabling a more Soulful life, here, now.

We cannot not judge. We cannot not evaluate. We cannot not make decisions. Masculine and Feminine typically do this in different ways. Cultures and Societies have different intrinsic values and beliefs that create certain world views. Aiming to be appreciative and accepting of how all this happens will open perspectives even more so we can realise the Unity in Diversity and come from the deepest recognition.

Knowing we can be moving more expansively to places where we can accept without trying to change others beliefs, values and meanings to allow us to be much more accepting of other and ourselves without the need to understand ‘why’.

The only meanings this life has are the ones we create, share, and accept as ‘true’. Being able to have the Heart Space and Mind Space that together opens a Soul Space is a genuine experience of what can’t be said with words. Come and dis-cover your Soul Space, your Unity …

Improvisation is an essential life skill.

We all live in a time, our time,  where the ability to rapidly adapt to circumstances and be our playful and congruent selves is not just a requirement but a necessity. At least it is if we want to live particularly meaningful lives. This is a suggestion, an invitation, to one way of being more comfortable with who we are, who be are becoming and how we really want to be in our world.

When our regular and time worn patterns no longer serve us as best as they could, and we recognise this and wish for new and different ways of being, here is one possible solution. It is also guaranteed to be a great deal of fun.

Improvisation and improvising can often lead us into new pastures. We can adopt a new or different persona that is enabling and freeing. New pastures may not always be what we expect yet at the same time it really is a move away from our old and staid patterns of behaviour. A positive move towards a more congruent and meaningful way of being. I think you know and I hope it is a deep knowing, that when the time is right for you to make a real shift. A step or two in the right direction to change something or awake something that we recognise has been snoozing all too long, too comfortably …

When you are looking to make a new move, get out of that old, limiting comfort zone and open up a little more to a real experience, wouldn’t you really want to make that move in a way that promotes and expresses a ‘you’ that opens your heart in both a playful and honest way?

If you are on board so far, then here is an invitation to come along and play … Play in a two day workshop that combines improvisation, coaching and personal growth. In a way that is generative for personal development and additionally for therapists, elements that will enhance your client work by out of the norm ways of directing change.

A safe, inclusive and co-supportive workshop where you are free to engage and build your confidence while you experience and develop some new and additional behaviours that get you out of those old comfort zones, and creates space with an accent on a shiny new you.

Facilitated by myself and Ruth Hindmarsh. Me and Ruth, described as a ‘force of nature’ ( this is accurate ) will facilitate a wholly transformative workshop experience, where participants can develop greatly increased playfulness and self confidence with a real and honest participation in self directed, meaningful personal evolution. And again, this is guaranteed to be fun!

When : October 1st – October 2nd

Venue : Fitness Training Consortium : Newcastle : Stepney Bank

A Workshop for Therapists, Counsellors,  Hypnotherapists, Social Workers, Doctors, Nurses, Police and all People Helpers working with client trauma. Using Eye Movement Integration and Generative Change Techniques. A Brief Therapy and Solution Focused approach to working with Trauma. This workshop run by Nigel Hetherington takes place in Newcastle upon Tyne, June 5th and is excellent value at only £60.

NLP Eye Movement Integration, developed by Steve and Connirae Andreas is probably the most effective and content free way of helping your clients dissolve the terrible and unwanted emotions related to trauma.

Eye Movement Integration is a very brief and content free process for resolving psychological traumas such as PTSD, intrusive memories, shame, guilt and other kinds of undesirable emotional and identity imprints.

This course offers so much even if, as I had, you’ve already learnt and used basic EMI techniques. It is exceptionally well presented and gives a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of EMI, including simple explanations of how and why it works. But in combining EMI and Time Line techniques it offers a new and extraordinarily effective procedure for the resolution of many types of symptom that can be linked to traumatic experience.” – Nick Rolfe

EMI is really quite easy to learn and use.  As a counsellor, therapist or anyone who is working with client trauma, you want proven and recognised ways to help your clients out of the black emotional cloud of pain and suffering as rapidly and as ecologically as possible.  Your clients are typically coming to see you because they are experiencing some form of emotional pain. All of the emotional states discussed above can be successfully treated and neutralised with Eye Movement Integration.

I found the material and the presentation excellent, what I have seen of the Generative Change process fills some big gaps in my conventional NLP training and the EMI allow the body mind to connect and integrate the release of emotional issues in a very clear and clean way!

May 14-15 will see in the first Northern Change Workers, Counsellors, Coaches and Therapist Conference [ NCCCTC ] held at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne. There are still tickets available to, more on that in a little bit.

The NCCCTC organised by Nigel Hetherington ( me ), is a gathering of the change workers and change consultants who are early adopters, the so called progressive front, of those of us who want new and different perspectives, ways of connecting and insights on how to improve our professional ( and personal ) practice in the world of change professionals and therapeutic partnerships.

This conference brings together eight accomplished and highly skilled change professionals who’s passions is to share and learn from each and everyone at the conference, with a view to highlighting effective principles, models and refined ways of working with our clients.

The NCCCTC is an extremely low cost, very high quality event that will deliver a multitude of different perspectives which all participants are invited to explore. The intention of this is not an intellectual exercise but to share and explore our modes, methods and principles of how we approach the business of change work. Each presenter will share their individual ways of working. At the bigger perspective all of these methods are really very effective and participants will get the different flavours of change work offered. Not so much a change work pick and mix, more a change principles ( with methods and process ) exploration.

There is no one ‘right’ way to approach change work, and the invitations are to absorb and assimilate all of the principles and process’s offered and then go out into the real world, your practice, and explore how you can make the most helpful and even profound changes in both your clients and yourself, updating how you choose to work. You can anticipate both theory but more so practice, with exercises and real world experience.

This is a wonderful opportunity for both seasoned professionals and people new to the field of professional change work to get insights into how we operate and work with clients. You can anticipate a wide variety of different approaches and tactics. And so much more …

The NCCCTC will close for general booking on Monday 9th May. It is a real bargain, and an honest investment in your professional practice @ £40 for two full days, with eight top tacticians posing as presenters.

Venue : Rutherford Hall, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne : 14-15 may 2011

A two day workshop in using Humour in Change Work : April 9-10 : £99.0 : Newcastle upon Tyne with Phil Jeremiah.

Phill Jeremiah’s work using humour in therapy is a seriously humorous, often irrelevant and completely client centred way of working. This approach helps even the most stuck clients make beneficial changes. A ‘Bubble’ session has the gentle power to help shift clients from problem states to resource states and create lasting and powerful change. In the ‘Bubble of Possibility’ anything and everything is possible … With 20 years plus experience in using a humour based approach, maybe you are ready to come on this exciting journey into the Bubble Of Possibility … So … What is the Bubble Of Possibility?

Phil provides training, motivational speaking and support to organisations in the use of humour. Laughter in the workplace is proven to reduce symptoms of stress and can promote good team working in a fun way with groups or individuals. This two day workshop offers us the opportunity to experiment with, understand why and how, and develop confidence in using humour in coaching or therapy.

It’s a must for your development and an even greater must for right now – with our economic and social structures all in turmoil, we could all do with a little humour to help us frame it in ways that are useful to and for us and to and for our clients.

Paula McCormack – UK Social Leaders Coach

Humour can help to break old patterns and establish new ones

This workshop is April 9-10 : There are only ten places :
Your investment for two days training in fully utilising
Humour in Change Work is a very reasonable £99.00

What is the Bubble Of Possibility?

The ‘Bubble’ is a safe space created in advance of any therapeutic or coaching work. Humour Worx change consultants, explain what can happen in this space, a space where the agent of change will and can do anything and everything to assist their client in making an honest and lasting change, from a problem space to something much more resourceful.

All participants will receive

  • A robust structure to utilise humour in change work
  • Personal change work with the group via exercises
  • The opportunity to do a 1:1 session with Phil
  • New and different perspectives and methodologies to use humour in your own work and practices

So many research papers and books tell us of the positive effects of laughter. Apparently 20 minutes of laughter is equivalent to 20 minutes of physical activity, likened to an inner form of jogging. It may well act as a buffer against day to day stressful perceptions. However, laughter is not easy to come by in our mixed up fear driven world. Consequently Humour Worx sets out to challenge our sometimes negative mind-sets and self-limiting beliefs.

I thoroughly enjoyed Phil’s workshop. Apart from the actual content, which was fascinating, his slick delivery meant that the weekend flew by. He is a superb and extremely humorous presenter, who could give many comedians a run for their money!

He brought the topic to life through a wide range of actual examples and life experience.

Humour Worx is a brilliant tool which complements other approaches. I have used it regularly since to great effect.

Carol Barwick – Carol Barwick Associates Ltd.

Research shows that laughter can help to boost the immune system

This workshop is all about therapeutic uses of humour and a Humour Worx approach to real change. An absolute must for therapists, coaches, trainers and all people helpers! Phil Jeremiah was one of Frank Farrelly’s ( Provocative Therapy ) earliest and brightest students.

When I first did the ‘Humour Worx’ weekend course with Phil Jeremiah, I was not sure of what to expect. What I found was a very fun way of resolving problems, that was both rapid and very effective. The processes used are very well structured as is the teaching methodology, which involves clear explanations along with actual practice of the processes involved. All in all an excellent piece of therapeutic technology.
